Monrovia-Margibi County’s kickball team has been crowned champions after edging Grand Cape Mount County in a tense and dramatic final of the National County Sports Meet (NCSM) kickball category. Grand Cape Mount, however, refused to surrender. After trailing for long periods, the Cape Mount girls found inspiration in the sixth inning, leveling the score at 1–1 to force the game into extra innings. Grand Cape Mount faltered at the crucial moment, failing to reach first base on their attempt. With that decisive play, Margibi County was officially crowned the kickball champions of the 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet.
After nearly a decade on the margins of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact eligibility, Liberia is once again positioning itself for a major development breakthrough. Liberia's path to a second compact has been unusually long. It has been a decade-long detour from compact eligibility.
