MONROVIA – The Managing Director of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) Moses Y. Kollies says all efforts are being exerted by his administration to ensure that Liberia gains its status again begin to register aircrafts. This, according to Mr. Kollie, will help the country’s aviation sector restore best practice and uphold its standard. According to Kollie, strives by LCAA to ensure safety and security standards is geared at upholding international practices in keeping with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Mr. Kollie explained that in 2006, the institution underwent an ICAO Safety Audit taking into account ICAO standards, which has since prevented the LCAA from registering aircrafts. He underscored the need for the collaborations in the aviation sector, saying the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority alone cannot deal with issues involving ‘search and rescue’ which is an important component of civil aviation.

MONROVIA — Citizens of Tubmanburg Bomi County Tuesday night took to the streets in jubilation of solar-powered streets light turned on by President George Weah. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry had pronounced the reduction of prices on the liberian market and transportation fare, but to no avail. According to Taylor who also operates a provision store in Paynesville, petroleum, rice and cement prices are regulated by the Ministry of Commerce.

NIMBA COUNTY — China Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO) says construction work continues on the 39 kilometer stretch of road linking Ganta to Saclepea in Nimba County. CICO through its General Manager Yang Zetao pledged the company overriding commitment in making sure that the 39 kilometer Ganta to Saclepea road project is completed on schedule as has been with all of its project in the past. According to the release, CICO continues to make meaningful impact on the lives of the Liberian people through the construction of roads and bridges since the company begun its operation in Liberia in 2008. Mentioning also that the road project will provide short term work opportunity for local residents, including skilled and unskilled workers as a means of generating income for their families. The company also listed the construction of the Monrovia City Streets, the Vai Town Bridge, Caldwell Road as well as the Red Light to Gbarnga road projects, which created employment opportunities for scores of Liberians over the last few years.

Monrovia — An official of the Federation of Liberian Mandingo Associations in the United States of America (FELMAUSA) is in Liberia disseminate important information about the organization and complete groundwork for the organization’s Councilwoman Hawa Kromah Konneh visit to the country before or after the 2021 holy month of Ramadan. Kafumba Samukai Kromah who was recently named and appointed as FELMAUSA Awareness Ambassador to Liberia arrived in the country two weeks ago and immediately began meeting stakeholders and unveiled his organization plans to support struggling Mandingo people with school subsidies and small business loans. Says Kromah: “I’m simply in the country to put members of the Mandingo community in particular and the Liberian populace in general on notice for the long-awaited visit of FELMAUSA Councilwoman Madam Konneh. He emphasized the aim and objective of his organization as uplifting the Mandingo tribe in Liberia in every aspect, culturally, financially, educationally, and economically. Ambassador Kromah then indicated that the organization is currently working on putting some food items together to be given to members of the Muslim communities in Liberia as they prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.

Monrovia — The Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Alexander B. Cummings and his wife Mrs. Teresa Cummings, at the head of a high-power delegation, will pay a two-day working visit to Lofa County from March 25 to 26 2021. Yayesorie Jalloh has formally launched its 2021 spelling bee competition for high schools across Montserrado. Jalloh noted that the spelling bee competition is designed to develop children’s confidence, presentation and cognitive skills positively sharing their attitudes for life as enabling them to attain Education. The competition will be accordingly held under the theme “Spell to secure a future life.”She said the competition is a part of Yayeh Initiative spelling bee program to benefit schools across Montserrado County. Through YMCA, the community carried on sanitation and hygiene promotion activities at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic. By observing hygiene and sanitation practices residents of Peace Island were able to disrupt the spread of the virus in their community. About 11,000 households are expected to benefit from the programme in Buchanan City. The programme attempts to catalyze private sector investment in the development of electricity mini-grids. The programme provides technical assistance and applies two support modalities for private sector investments in and operation of mini-grids.

BOMI COUNTY — President George Weah has disclosed that his wife, Madam Clar Weah, has an intention to develop the famous Blue Lake in Bomi County into a tourist site. He made the disclosure in Bomi County at the start of second phase of his county tour. “While we await response from the people of Bomi County, we have already done a very good sketch to include lagoon, restaurant. The First lady is ready to develop blue lake but only if the people of Bomi will agree,” President George Weah. Blue lake is a key attraction, in Bomi County.

MONROVIA — The Chairman of the National Patriotic Party (NPP), James Biney, is urging partisans of the party not to deviate from the content of a recent Peace Agreement to maintain stability in the party. As part of the Peace Agreement, FrontPageAfrica understands, was for the party to go through a vigorous restructuring process in 11 of the 15 counties, but it appears that peace agreement has not been upheld. Biney in a Facebook post on March 23 pleaded with partisans to maintain the stability in the party as digressing from the peace agreement would plunge the party in another chaos. They would go down as failing the party,” Biney posted on his Facebook page. “Let the Team Heads and those attending the gatherings, especially the Chairs as recognized by the Peace document be guided,” Biney said.
