ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested three alleged traffickers responsible for sending migrants illegally to unknown destinations via Libya from Pakistan, ARY News reported. FIA’s Punjab chapter conducted raids in Gujrat and arrested accused Raja Raheel and Sufyan. The investigation has started while raids are being carried out for the arrest of the remaining accused, said FIA spokesperson. At a weekly briefing, FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the embassy of Pakistan in Libya was facilitating the process of identification of the bodies. “Pakistan embassy and foreign affairs ministry were in touch with the families of the people who had died in the boat accident,” he continued.

The activities of the ninth conference of the Arab Women Organization started in Tripoli on Monday in the presence of the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, as Libya presided over the ninth conference, according to Hokoometna platform. The Misrata Court of Appeal - First Criminal Circuit - adjourned Sunday trial of individuals accused of having links to ISIS so that it gives the defense team an opportunity to prepare their legal procedures. The trial began on Sunday morning in the presence of the defense lawyers for the 56 defendants, in addition to the presence of the lawyers claiming the civil rights of the blood relatives, who called on the court to quickly decide on the verdict. The European Union (EU) launched in Tunisia on February 21 and 22, a workshop on free zones in Libya, as part of the activities of the “E-NABLE” project, which is funded by the EU and implemented by the “Expertise France” Foundation according to the European Union office in Libya. The workshop discussed the development of a comprehensive national strategy for free zones in order to expand the scope of trade movement locally, improve the investment climate, and support Libyan economic growth, according to the same source.
