Three weeks post the intense Rugby World Cup final clash between the Springboks and All Blacks, controversies still echo over key decisions. Recent reports from New Zealand reveal a stunning revelation: World Rugby has seemingly conceded that Aaron Smith’s disallowed try should have been allowed. The Disallowed Try Incident:In the pivotal 54th minute of the final match, Richie Mo’unga, the All Blacks’ fly-half, orchestrated an impressive play, penetrating the Springboks’ defensive line before seamlessly connecting with Aaron Smith, who elegantly dove over the try line. The Controversy UnveiledReferee Wayne Barnes, after careful scrutiny of the replays, made the decision to disallow the try. Nonetheless, a report from Stuff.co.nz suggests that World Rugby, in private discussions with the All Blacks, has recognized that Barnes’ ruling was actually outside the scope of the rules.

A New Zealand couple demanded a refund from an airline after they were trapped next to a snorty, gassy creature on a 13-hour flight from Paris to Singapore. Adding to the pooch poaching the leg space, the couple soon discovered the owner wasn’t the only one who suffered anxiety. As the couple moved seats, they were asked to file an incident report to the airline. After the flight was done, the couple emailed the airline’s customer service team to complain. But they argued that didn’t cover the difference between their premium economy seats and the economy seats they landed.

India faces familiar foes New Zealand in Wednesday’s semi-final in Mumbai. However, New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner believes that if the Black Caps can pick wickets at the start, then it will peg back India and keep the packed house at Wankhede silent. Advertisement“Hopefully we can hear a pin drop and a bit of silence in Wankhede – then we’re obviously doing alright. Obviously the start we had was unbelievable and it did silence the crowd a bit. Should India beat the Kiwis, then the two-time world champions will face Australia or South Africa in the Nov. 19 final in Ahmedabad.

New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner is ready to recreate the quiet atmosphere he encountered in Manchester during the 2019 World Cup clash against India. With the semi-final showdown scheduled at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on November 15, Santner is hopeful that the Blackcaps can impose early silence on the home crowd. Recalling the memorable win in Manchester, where New Zealand reduced India to five for three, Santner envisions a similar scenario in Mumbai. “We’re doing well if we can hear a pin drop and enjoy some silence,” Santner told Stuff.co.nz. It appears that the key to slowing them down is by taking wickets early on, that’s a crucial aspect of the game,” he added.

Mitchell Santner is hoping that New Zealand will be able to silence the crowd at the Wankhede stadium during the semi-final clash against India on November 15. The Blackcaps secured a famous win over India in Manchester during the 2019 edition of the World Cup and the situation was pretty similar. “Hopefully we can hear a pin drop and a bit of silence – then we’re obviously doing alright," said Santner to Stuff.co.nz. Santner feels that the best way to slow India down would be to take wickets upfront. "Obviously, the start we had was unbelievable and it did silence the crowd a bit."

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has said it will continue the reduced tackle height law trial in its community game until the end of 2025. NZR community rugby general manager Steve Lancaster told the New Zealand Herald that the trial law, which forces a first tackler to tackle below the sternum, has both improved perceived safety and made for a better, faster game. Faster games“Our participants have told us that they want the tackle area of the game to be safer, and that’s been our focus. The resounding feedback we’ve heard from our players, coaches and referees is that they understood the reason for change, and that’s been critical to its success,” said Lancaster. The latter law trial has been credited for an improvement in overall gameplay from the set piece as well as a reduction in handling errors from the same.
