New Zealand’s online safety organisation, Netsafe, partnered with Australia’s eSafety Commissioner for the conference – bringing together world-leading online safety professionals to explore the human experience in online spaces. Panoho told Stuff the internet had become another mechanism to marginalise women, particularly indigenous women, at a “rampant” pace. But she believed online had not become the environment that would help empower indigenous women, “which we hoped it would be”. Māori Women's Development Inc CEO Linda Clay, Nordstrom, Cartledge, and Panoho spoke about their shared experiences as indigenous women online. Paris (AFP) – Ian Foster grew up with faith "an important part of our family" and the New Zealand head coach has had to draw on deep reserves of that with his job at one point in doubt. New Zealand head coach Ian Foster relies on the faith imbued in him as a child to get through tough timesAdvertising Read moreNow the 58-year-old is set to lead the All Blacks into Saturday's World Cup final against South Africa. Foster has required that faith, battling through a tough four years since he replaced two-time World Cup winner Steve Hansen, for whom he was assistant coach from 2012 to 2019. Both those defeats have been avenged in this World Cup -- beating the Irish 28-24 in an engrossing quarter-final and then whipping the Pumas 44-6 in a one-sided semi-final. Nationally, the natural increase in the population (19,100) was the lowest since World War II, but high net international migration gains (86,800) led to high population growth. Nationally, the population growth of 2.1% was a significant increase from the growth of 0.1% in the previous year (5,800 people). Net migration for subnational areas includes internal migration (people migrating within New Zealand) and international migration (people migrating between New Zealand and other countries). “Auckland gained people through international migration, but lost people through internal migration, continuing the pattern since the late 1990s,” MacAskill said. These areas all had population gains through net international migration and natural increase, and all but Auckland and Hamilton city had gains through net internal migration.
