Coach Vlatko Andonovski said Friday that Megan Rapinoe, Julie Ertz, and Rose Lavelle are all available for Saturday’s World Cup opener against Vietnam. Rapinoe and Lavelle will be on restricted minutes initially, but Ertz will have no limitations. Expect to see them, too.”The game might seem like a mismatch — the USWNT is the two-time defending champion while Vietnam is ranked No. They want to become the first team, men’s or women’s, to win three consecutive World Cup titles, and that won’t happen if they’re even the slightest bit complacent. “We’re going into this game to play with the best team and get the result that’s favorable for us.”Credit: usatoday.comENND

Osabuohien noted that the devaluation of Naira and floating of exchange rate was part of the factors responsible for the new pump price of petrol. “In addition, the nation exports petrol products and in return, brings refined products into the country, thus having ripple effects on the economy.” he said. The economist said that the impacts were so much because those that imported refined products into the county needed to translate it to naira equivalent. Osabuohien added that if the country had not been importing refined products, the effects would not have been much on the economy. He said that the Federal Government needed to put back part of the subsidy removal into economy to ameliorate the ripple effects on the people

Shops and schools in Kenya reopened on Thursday despite a fresh round of opposition protests that have led to deadly clashes and sparked appeals for dialogue to end the crisis. The toll adds to more than a dozen fatalities since March, when Odinga mounted his campaign, triggering alarm in the international community. His Azimio alliance on Wednesday evening urged “Kenyans to come out in an even bigger way tomorrow”. “Today it is near to normal, not normal yet, but we are getting there,” he told AFP. A body was found in central Johannesburg early Thursday after an unexplained blast ripped through a main road at rush hour the previous evening, the emergency services said. “(In the) early hours of this morning, we managed to recover a body of a male person on site where the explosion occurred,” Emergency Management Services spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said. Witnesses reported chemical odours and escaping vapours after the blast, which damaged the road surface and overturned vehicles, including minibus taxis. Panyaza Lesufi, the premier of Gauteng province, which includes Johannesburg and Pretoria, said a preliminary inspection did not reveal the cause of the explosion. Emergency services initially blamed underground gas pipes but the city’s privatised gas company, Egoli Gas, said it was “unlikely” this was the case as customers were still receiving their supplies uninterrupted.
