The US representative for Afghanistan also touched upon the burning question whether the Taliban are supporting TTP attacks against Pakistan or not. He acknowledged that Pakistan is a help in diffusing situation in Afghanistan and bringing stability there. The statements and opinions of the US representative on Afghanistan are testament of Pakistan’s positive role in Afghanistan’s condition.

The Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony convened on Tuesday to discuss the implications of the Saudi government's decision to significantly reduce the number of Pakistani Hajj Group Organizers (HGOs) from 905 to only 46. Although the religious affairs ministry eagerly awaited a response from the Saudi authorities, it was emphasized that it was unlikely for the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to reconsider its decision. The committee recommended that the ministry should prepare for the possibility of the Saudi decision remaining unchanged. After a thorough discussion, the committee suggested that the Caretaker Minister of Religious Affairs, Aneeq Ahmed, should engage with his Saudi counterpart to advocate Pakistan's position. Furthermore, the committee directed the Hajj director-general to address the concerns of Hajj pilgrims with the relevant Saudi authorities.

The behaviour of the crowd in Ahmedabad during the recent Pakistan-India match was a sorry sight. Chanting slogans, derogatory remarks, and fights among the crowd were a reflection of the intolerance that has seeped deeper into Indian society. Both ICC and the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) must take notice of what happened in Ahmedabad. It is very disheartening to see authorities being as hostile as the crowd in Ahmedabad. When BCCI is shying away from upholding the spirit of the sport, we cannot expect much from the crowd.

At 11:53 p.m., Jefferson County deputies responded to a report of a person down in the roadway in the 200 block of 52 Street in Fairfield. Deputies arrived and found an injured man being attended to by witnesses. The victim has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office but is awaiting notification of family before releasing their identity. If anyone has information about this incident, they are asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.
