Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said that former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar led the “gang of conspirators” against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif. The next prime minister will be Nawaz Sharif. “Imran Niazi was made the prime minister through rigged polls, with malfunctioning of RTS and the PML-N was deprived of its seats”, he added. The prime minister sneered that contrary to PTI chief’s tall claims for a vast network of public welfare projects, nothing tangible could be witnessed. The prime minister said if the people gave mandate to the PML-N in the next general elections, Nawaz Sharif would be the prime minister and under his guidance, he would work as an ordinary worker.

In an interview with a private television, he said Imran Niazi damaged relations with friendly, brotherly countries including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and China. “Imran Niazi falsely accused me of corruption of 45 percent in Chinese assisted projects and damaged relations with China,” he remarked. He said corruption was rife during the tenure of Imran Niazi and every day a new scandal of corruption surfaced, including sugar, wheat and Malam Jabba scams. He recalled that Imran Niazi did not buy gas from the international market at the rate of three dollars, and the negligence added to the economic difficulties of the people. He said May 9 was an anti-state activity and was an internal conspiracy led by Imran Niazi and his associates who attacked installations of armed forces.

A cheaper dollar and a stock exchange rally, while captivating on the surface, have clouded our judgment, deceiving us into believing that they are the hallmarks of a thriving economy. In our media landscape, the focus on day-to-day movements has become a whirlwind of distractions, obscuring the bigger picture. We must demand more, yearn for context that transcends the ephemeral fluctuations, and truly grasp the significance of fundamental improvements. Only 29% of women in Pakistan possess a bank account, a stark reminder of the vast untapped potential that lies dormant. Let us cast aside the illusions that deceive us, shifting our focus towards the fundamentals that truly shape our economic landscape.

Training camp is officially underway, and it is now time to make my latest prediction on what the 2023 Detroit Lions‘ 53-man roster will look when training camp concludes. 2023 Detroit Lions 53-man roster predictionQuarterbacks (2)Jared GoffTeddy BridgewaterI maintain my prediction that the Lions will sign free agent QB Teddy Bridgewater as a backup for Jared Goff in 2023. There is a chance as the Detroit Lions did open the season with four tight ends in 2022. For now, I am going with three tight ends on the initial 2023 Detroit Lions 53-man roster. As always, we are sure there will be a surprise or two on the initial 53-man roster.

The reported undiplomatic sermon from Afghan Taliban, urging Islamabad to engage the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan in talks is nothing but a tactic to deviate public opinion. Moreover, Kabul also understands that it is in a pledge with the international community to persuade the TTP to not use its soil for nefarious activities, and to exterminate all such elements. Thus, the lecture to take to the table seems to be a friendly gesture more towards the TTP, then actually addressing the menace of cross-border terrorism. This new stunt from the Taliban will surely be contested by Pakistan, and the regional states alike. This is the reason Pakistan’s civil and military leadership had called it a day, and resolved not to engage anymore with such dreaded entities.

Once again, Pakistan has waged the only war it has repeatedly won: the ones started against our own Constitution and countrymen. PTI supporters took to the streets. In Rawalpindi, PTI supporters pelted stones on the gate of army’s General Headquarters, damaged Army martyrs’ monuments and memorials. In his various public rallies and addresses, the ex-Premier Khan showed his contradictory statements. Sometimes, he appreciated the Pakistan Army and sometimes, censured it, while targeting the former army chief, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, stating: “A major international conspiracy was carried out against his regime’s removal through America’s threatening diplomatic cypher.

The Afghan Taliban on Friday made a fresh pitch for peace talks between Pakistan and the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Islamabad’s efforts aimed at seeking action against the terror outfit by Kabul could not make headway. But the Afghan Taliban told him after a series of meetings that Pakistan should pursue the path of peace instead of use of force. But despite Pakistan’s insistence on action against the TTP, the Afghan Taliban government is not ready to go that path. Instead, Kabul once against asked Pakistan to start peace talks with the TTP. He assured the Pakistani envoy that the Afghan Taliban government had a policy of non-interference in the internal matters of other countries.

An education specialist at UNICEF, Asif Abrar, recently pointed out that Pakistan tops the worldwide list of out of school children, outlining how this should be treated as no less than an education emergency. Based on UNICEF data, approximately 22.8 million children aged 5-16 in Pakistan do not attend school, accounting for 44 percent of the population in this age range. The unprecedented rains and floods last year had caused large-scale migrations and caused massive damage to school buildings, which ultimately affected the education of children in this age group. The exodus of the masses from flood-affected areas has intensified the dropout ratio of children, which makes it impossible to achieve educational targets and outcomes. Access and connectivity still remain an issue in many parts, which is essential for distance learning programs.
