Reported tests found that Grok edited images of women to appear in bikinis, including images of a public figure. Journalists in Jakarta observed that the Grok account continued to respond to queries, including in Bahasa Indonesia, even after access was restricted. The Indonesian action comes amid an international backlash against sexualised deepfakes and non‑consensual image editing.

To me and many others, that video is an unambiguous example of law enforcement using excessive force on an American citizen. This week isn’t the first time I’ve felt “friend or foe” fatigue. Regardless of where you stand on the conflict, it feels fair to agree that children should not have to starve to death anywhere, ever. Now, we can’t even seem to agree whether sending ICE into American cities and killing American citizens is morally unjust. Maybe conservatives feel this “friend or foe” fatigue as well.
