Landmark Shapleigh restaurant Ted’s Fried Clams is reopening under new ownership this spring, more than 75 years after the roadside clam shack first launched on Route 109. A driver was traveling east on 8th Street around 11:45. a.m. when they lost control of the vehicle and hit four pedestrians, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman. Flowers and debris go flying as the vehicle then smashes head-on into a tree.
