RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — CNN’s legal team is trying to move the defamation lawsuit filed by North Carolina Lt. Gov. and since-defeated governor candidate Mark Robinson from state to federal court. On Friday, CNN filed to move the lawsuit from the Superior Court of Wake County to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. “Robinson’s own description of this lawsuit demonstrates that the controversyrelates to Robinson’s (erroneous) claims about CNN’s news article, not Money’s statements,” CNN’s team says. “All of Money’s statements reflect genuine affection for Robinson,” CNN’s legal team writes.

I’ve spent more than four thousand hours studying right-wing media for my newsletter TheRighting over the past seven years. Though Fox News remains the largest right-wing website, as measured by Comscore, it has shrunk while Newsmax has posted increases every month except one for the past four years. I’ve also tracked subscriber counts very closely among the top right-wing podcasters, and the increases have been remarkable for a handful of conservative voices. Pope Francis Calls For Gaza Genocide Probe Pope urges investigation amid rising casualties and international outcry over Israel's military actionsPope Francis has stirred significant attention with his recent call for the international community to investigate allegations of genocide related to Israel's military actions against Gaza. This unprecedented statement from the papacy arrives amid devastating numbers coming from Gaza, where Palestinian health authorities report over 43,000 casualties since the onset of the conflict. For years, he had criticized the military campaign's proportionality but had refrained from explicitly endorsing the genocide label until now. Throughout his papacy, Francis has made it clear he is committed to peace, echoing calls for dialogue and resolution devoid of violence. The Vatican's official stance and reactions will shape the dialogue moving forward, potentially influencing how nations approach accusations of wartime crimes and genocide.
