At the 100-day mark of Trump’s first term in office, his approval rating was 44%. But now, nearly 100 days into Trump’s second presidency, a new CNN poll finds his approval rating is even lower at 41%. The president of the United States, from the moment he regained the office, has been step-by-step following the autocrat’s playbook. There’s an energy “emergency” that allows Trump to trample environmental laws to bring about an infinite amount of oil-drilling. Support HuffPost Already contributed? Being inclusive is a good thing — it means everyone in the U.S. is regarded as important in public health research. I am old, sole caregiver to my husband of 48 years, and don’t have a lot of money to send to even the best of progressive causes. I would hit the streets, bunions be damned, but he cannot safely be left alone for hours at a time. And while I support the protestors, I don’t think that is hitting them where it hurts — yet. I try to support local business owners and to avoid big companies that have forced them out of business (looking at you, WalMart). Hitting them in their wallets should work as well on the little guys as it seems to be working on Musk.

I Visited Off-Grid 'Hippie' Communes To See If They Have Life Figured Out. A home made of cob and stone at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage in Rutledge, Missouri (July 2023). During my week at Dancing Rabbit, people welcomed me into their homes, sharing “family dinners” and even a birthday party. Intentional communities tend to have incredibly low rates of crime — theft isn’t common when you know all your neighbors. Still, after my months of immersive research on intentional communities was done, I didn’t end up joining any of them.
