In another notice released on the same day, Md Ruhul Amin, a member of the Planning Commission with the rank of secretary, has been named officer on special duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Public Administration. OSDs are usually not assigned any work in the policymaking or implementation process of the government.

Yunus leaves for New York with five politicians to attend UN General AssemblyChief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has left for New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). According to the schedule, Yunus will arrive in New York on Sept 22 and address the General Assembly session on Sept 26. Thirteen candidates have been expelled for allegedly resorting to unfair means in the written examination for the post of Cargo Helper (Casual) at Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The information was confirmed in a media statement issued by Biman on Sunday. According to the statement, the recruitment test was conducted on Sept 20 from 3pm to 4pm at different centres in Dhaka. A Russian national who worked at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project has been found dead in Pabna’s Ishwardi. He worked as an electrician in the contractor company of the project ESKM. A BCS examinee caught with electronic devices at the 47th preliminary examination centre has been sent to jail. Solaiman Islam was detained on Friday morning while entering Eden Mohila College centre with two electronic chips and three earphones. According to the case statement, Porikshit was on duty as an invigilator at the 47th BCS preliminary exam in Eden College.
