Consequently, the Ethiopian Defense Force has initiated what seems to be an ambivalent engagement with residents in the region, a move that appears highly political and beyond the conventional scope of the Defense Force’s duties. If this doesn’t occur, she urged the Defense Force to withdraw from the Amhara region, emphasizing the unsuitability of Lalibela province for battle due to its historic rock-hewn churches at risk. Moreover, travel from the Amhara region to Addis Ababa has become increasingly perilous, with passengers detained, abused, and even redirected back at checkpoints. It is noticeable that the perception of people in the region towards the defense force has changed. Its deployment to the Amhara region is seen as one that is politically motivated to ravage the Amhara region rather than one that is necessitated by security needs.

As Ghana struggles with housing, the most important resource needed to close the country’s housing gap – land, is also the resource surrounded by the most conflict. The Ghanaian judicial system is overwhelmed with cases, most of them land related litigation, making 52 per cent of all cases in court. “These cases are clogging the judicial system, resulted in fatal clashes, denying investors access and slowing development,” he said.
