"The ministry has prioritised domestic LPG supply to households and introduced a 25 day inter-booking period to avoid hoarding/black marketing." Non domestic supplies from imported LPG are being prioritised to essential non domestic sectors such as hospitals and educational institutions, it said.

COIMBATORE: A 47-year-old devotee from Kempatti Colony in Coimbatore city died while climbing the hills leading to the Velliangiri temple on Sunday night. This is the third death reported while climbing the hills through the forest path this season, whereas nine devotees died due to various reasons in 2025 between February and May. Police sources say one of the doctors who was also trekking along with other devotees noticed Haridass lying on the path. As there was no pulse, the doctor advised Haridass' friends to contact the police and the forest department staff in the foothills. The top court was hearing a plea for the extension of tenure of tribunal members, including chairpersons, in the wake of last year's verdict which struck down the Tribunal Reforms Act, 2021. The move comes as financial institutions reassess such guarantees following Reserve Bank of India’s mid-2023 guidelines capping DLG exposure at 5% of loan portfolio and mandating board approval. Paytm, a listed fintech firm that began DLG-backed loans in 2024, began retreating from the arrangement due to high costs by mid-2025.
