David Walliams looked downcast as he arrived at a children's event promising 'plenty of Walliams-style mischief' in his first public appearance since his fall from grace last month. The children's author, 54, re-emerged in public on Saturday just weeks after being dropped by his publisher HarperCollins following allegations he harassed employees at the firm. Putting on a brave face, Walliams arrived at the Circle & Star Theatre in Hampstead, London, but appeared visibly rattled as he struggled to locate the stage door. Friends have told the Daily Mail this week that 'it hasn't exactly been the easiest times for him recently.' Walliams' event was billed as 'a joyful storytelling adventure for kids and families,' featuring readings, audience interaction and the former TV star's trademark mischief.

It appears not much effort went into establishing the accuracy of Open Seas ‘survey’ by your journalists. I will leave it to your readers to conclude the effect Open Seas’ erroneous figures have on their Economic Impact Assessment. As an early adopted of a heat pump, can I persuade them otherwise. Furthermore, electricity prices do not fall when wholesale gas prices do. In the UK heat pumps are presently not economic, and forcing change may increase rather than decrease fuel poverty.

Saturday’s demonstration heard that the Grok AI app on Elon Musk’s social media platform was one such “weapon” which exploits children and adults for profit. A former content moderator with Twitter, now X, said a “drastic reduction” in the number of content moderators had taken place on the platform since it became X. Man Utd dominate Man City as Michael Carrick reign begins with winBy Simon Peach, Press Association Chief Football WriterMichael Carrick enjoyed a dream start to life in the Manchester United hotseat as Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu secured a morale-boosting 2-0 derby victory against title-chasing Manchester City. Carrick was this week named head coach until the end of the season and oversaw an immediate improvement, with second-half goals from Mbeumo and Dorgu securing United a deserved win against City at a reinvigorated Old Trafford. Pep Guardiola’s side rarely threatened Carrick’s men, who would have won by more was it not for some impressive Gianluigi Donnarumma saves, the woodwork and three goals being ruled out for offside. Stuttering title challengers City may well be aggrieved that Diogo Dalot was not sent off for an early challenge on Jeremy Doku, but the red side of Manchester will not care a jot. Carrick’s delight was clear after Saturday lunchtime’s win, which followed his unbeaten three-game stint as caretaker after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November 2021.

Five minutes earlier, Prendergast dotted down under the posts following Harry Byrne’s chip ahead to send the four-time champions into the lead for the first time. Perhaps Bayonne wanted something positive to take back to the Top 14 — they are at home to Castres next weekend — after just one win in their last six. Whatever the reason, Bayonne proved a match for their illustrious opponents for 75 minutes. He was replaced by Sam Prendergast. The second half ran to a similar script: sterling, scrambling French defence and infuriating Leinster errors.

Banfield, 39, is on trial for the February 2023 killings of his wife, Christine Banfield, and a stranger, Joseph Ryan, at his home in northern Virginia. He allegedly stabbed Christine, 37, to death in their bed as part of a twisted plot to be with his 25-year-old Brazilian au pair Juliana Peres Magalhães. Ryan responded and was also killed by Banfield as part of an elaborate scheme to be with Magalhães, prosecutors say. Magalhães shared how she and Banfield lured Ryan to the house using a BDSM site. The two then shot him, staging the scene to look as if Ryan had been a predator stabbing Banfield.
