There were no gangland gun murders in the Republic in 2025, marking – for the first time in at least three decades – no such murders in a year. Looking back to the Celtic Tiger era, there were more than 20 gangland gun murders in some years. Other struggling chains, including CVS, Claire's, and Torrid, also ranked among the top 20 for store closures — though each has kept several locations open as they scale back their footprints. Coresight says 566 additional closures have already been scheduled for early 2026, led by long-struggling chains such as Walgreens, 7-Eleven and Dollar General. Torrid, the trendy plus-size clothing mall staple, leads the list of clothing retail closures, with 20 shops slated to permanently shut. Still, retail analyst Neil Saunders previously told the Daily Mail that the outlook isn't as grim as it seems.

But the ambulance service found Facebook posts shared by her sister showing her house decorated for Christmas. But in future interviews, she said she had resigned from the ambulance service, and claimed she had never been subjected to a disciplinary hearing.
