The circumstances in bringing Lynch and English into consistent midfield partnership were not as Limerick would have liked. O’Donovan’s subsequent shoulder injury, suffered next time out against Offaly, brought Lynch and English into midfield business. If it was the master dictating Limerick’s midfield rhythm in the eight-point win over Cork, it was the apprentice giving the lesson against Galway. Heading into Sunday’s latest collision of red and green, this is a department where Cork have to somehow curb the influence of the in-form Lynch-English act. He's pushing himself and trying to keep making himself better and improving.”Ciarán Joyce of Cork is tackled by Adam English of Limerick.

Should Saka be unavailable, Arteta will have to assess his options as he bids to keep Arsenal's Treble challenge on course. In the Premier League, Martinelli contributed with assists against Leeds and Sunderland from the right after coming off the bench. An alternative option would be a bold one, as Arteta could opt to throw 16-year-old Max Dowman into the mix. Rice has been a near ever-present in the Gunners' midfield this season - missing just one of their Premier League matches. The withdrawal of Martin Zubimendi - who has started 30 of Arsenal's 31 Premier League games - from Spain duty with a knee problem would be an added concern.

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi saw red while playing for his country in a friendly on the back of a bizarre reaction to a tackle. This week, however, he had a day to forget in his side's friendly against Jordan when he was sent off in the second-half after coming on as a substitute on the hour mark. With the score at 2-2 and into stoppage time, Iwobi saw red in more ways than one when he took exception to a pull back and jumped on his opponent. His actions triggered a mass brawl, with players from both sides, including the substitutes, involved in a pushing match. When things had calmed down, Iwobi was given his marching orders in what was a sour end to the game.

King Charles III hosted a banquet at Windsor Castle for US President Donald Trump last September, and will visit the US for a return engagement. Mr Trump put the dates as April 27-30. “I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect,’’ Mr Trump said on Truth Social. But that hasn’t stopped Mr Trump from chiding the UK for refusing to allow US aircraft to use British bases for offensive operations against Iran. Ed Davey, leader of the opposition Liberal Democrats, said Mr Starmer had shown “a staggering lack of backbone” by allowing the state visit to go ahead.

A homeless couple are sleeping in their car on the roads of Kildare and are seeking emergency married accommodation from the county council, a High Court judge was told on Wednesday. Colm O’Dwyer, for the Lawrences, said the couple had been made homeless on December 29 and been led to believe Kildare County Council had no accommodation available for married couples. She had later been offered individual hostel accommodation but had turned it down on the need to be with her husband. Judge Mulcahy said the council had offered both of the Lawrences accommodation and he felt the county council may wish to have information placed before the court. “I feel the council should be put on notice of this application and I will give you leave to bring a new application before the court next Wednesday on notice to Kildare County Council,” Judge Mulcahy said.
