The Gaelic Woodland Project is a 100% volunteering charity which aims to remove invasive cherry laurel from our forests and purchase land for the creation of native woodlands. Everyone involved, including the board of directors (the operational centre of the charity), is a volunteer — an approach reflected in our branding tagline: ‘People-Powered Reforestation’. Last year’s work in Lisnavagh House was our third year, and the smoothest season so far. Pictures: Gaelic Woodland ProjectWe collected and potted about 60 acorns which germinated in a volunteer's back garden in Dublin. Britain's top al-Qaeda chief could be back on the streets within a matter of weeks - as he launches his latest bid for freedom. Rangzieb Ahmed, dubbed Osama bin Laden's right hand man, will appear before a parole board on February 13 to argue he is a 'reformed character'. And another bid for freedom was blocked in 2024 when parole chiefs found he was still a risk to the public. Ahmed, now 48, is set to appear before a parole board for an oral hearing where a 'huge range of evidence' will be reviewed. 'You have to question whether it will ever be safe for either of them to walk the streets again.'

However, preferences are seemingly shifting, with a surge of new relationships blossoming on the padel court. In January last year, 41,008 Open Matches were organized in the UK through the platform. Cian McPhillips produced a devastating last lap to take victory over 600m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on Saturday, clocking 1:16.37 ahead of former world champion Donovan Brazier (1:17.20). While McPhillips’ winning time in Boston came up shy of the Irish record of 1:15.80 set by Mark English in Abbotstown recently, the manner of his victory was striking. In the men’s 3000m in Boston, Andrew Coscoran finished runner-up in 7:30.97, just shy of his Irish indoor record of 7:30.75, with victory going to Australia’s Cameron Myers in 7:27.57. Nick Griggs again ascended to new heights by coming home fourth in 7:32.79, smashing his Irish U-23 indoor record by almost 13 seconds and moving second on the Irish indoor all-time list. Two world records fell at the meeting to US athletes, with Hobbs Kessler clocking 4:48.79 for 2000m and Josh Hoey breaking the world indoor 800m record, running 1:42.50.

Water cremation, carried out using a Resomator machine, could be introduced in Scotland this summer (Image: Kindly Earth)Should all come together as expected, it’s likely the country’s first water cremation will take place this summer, offering Scots an alternative to burial and cremation for the first time in more than a century. The dawning of a new age of water cremation, however, would also introduce what some may feel is the uncomfortable issue of disposing of liquid remains. Figures from Resomation Ltd, meanwhile, show just 28kg of CO2 is released per water cremation. Andrew Purves, COO of William Purves Funeral Directors, said some people have already taken steps to include water cremation in funeral plans. “We have assessed the water cremation process in terms of any potential impact on our assets and the environment and water quality and established that it has no impact.”

‌The United icon introduced one modification following his return to Old Trafford after Ruben Amorim's departure following 14 months at the helm. It was following last week's derby triumph over Manchester City that the Daily Mail revealed Carrick has made training sessions at Carrington briefer whilst boosting their intensity to enhance United's performances. ‌The 44-year-old's choice to modify the training regime is believed to have received a favourable response from the squad. Alongside this alteration, training sessions have also featured greater emphasis on individual work with the first-team players. There were plenty of leggings suitable for time spent at the gym, but what about the other hours of the day? When she’s not working, you’ll find her at the gym, doing reformer pilates, or on ‘hot-girl walks’ with her best friends. Through sport I got to travel and have really unique experiences, and to this day I still prioritise spending money on experiences and travel over material things. My entire teens and college years were spent budgeting how I could afford nights out with my friends while only working a few hours a week. I ended up coming home within a year, spent most of the money, and had to buy another car again.

I recently received an invitation to join the state GOP. Jackson Browne’s song, “lives in the balance” wants to know who the men in the shadows are. My question is, what don’t many understand about those orchestrating the circumstances that create death of the countless and nameless all over the world? Finally, there’s Russell Vought, co-author of Project 2025 ; the man who only recently came out of the shadows . His perverted desire to create a white Christian male-dominated country is the basis for all that we see.
