Baringo rescue missionThe evacuation efforts focused on Longeiwan, Sintaan, and Eldume in Baringo South. "In the last two days, 1,048 people from Longeiwan, Sintaan, and Eldume in Baringo South have been successfully evacuated to safety as of yesterday evening," Kenya Red Cross announced. "However, there are still others marooned in Sintaan, Baringo South, and preparations are underway to evacuate them as well," the statement said.

Led by the committee's chair George Kariuki, who is also MP for Ndia Constituency, the committee has urged leaders and residents to address the matter noting it will soon paralyse transport in the nation.
