The Liberian Senate wishes to state unequivocally that it would have reacted by now to the verdict of the ECOWAS Court in the JA’NEH Impeachment Case. Kabineh Ja’neh was conducted in a very fair and transparent manner as prescribed by the 1986 Constitution of Liberia, the relevant laws of our country and the Standing Rules of the Liberian Senate. Therefore, section 24 of the Senate Rules was revised to make Senate Rule 63 coherent with the Constitution of Liberia. The entire impeachment trial process was transparent, legally and constitutionally-sound and totally void of inducements, coercion, political collaboration, vengeance, and politicking the Statement concludes. The Liberian Senate in no way violated the rights, in any form, of Cllr Kabineh Ja’neh prior to, during and after his impeachment trial.

MONROVIA – Residents of Monrovia woke up Monday aware that there was going to be a protest, to be staged by the Council of Patriots (COP) of Mr. Henry Costa. Liberia: Gracious Givers International Calls on Government, Others to Provide Adequate Support to Children Staying at Various Orphanages across the CountryMONROVIA – A new organization named and styled Gracious Givers International (GGI) has been officially launched in Liberia with an aim to seek adequate supports for the provision of a “comfortable environment” for orphans in the country. MONROVIA – The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested a Nigerian national and several others with a huge quantity of narcotics substances valued at L$8,395,000 LRD in the country. According to a release issued from the LDEA, the suspect was apprehended following a tip-off. Agent Jackson disclosed that the suspect allegedly passed out 12 tubes of heroin at the airport. The statement pointed out that suspect Nwajiaku, the Nigerian national, was later transferred to the LDEA headquarters in Fiamah, Sinkor where he also passed out additional 11 tubes of raw heroin. The statement divulged that the Nigerian suspect was duly investigated and charged with the unlicensed importation and illegal distribution of narcotics substances.
