The UNICEF "urges all parties to accelerate every effort to clear existing mines and unexploded ordnance and promote victim assistance, and to uphold children's right to a safe and protective environment," Servadei said. Violent clashes erupted in April 2019 between the eastern-based army and the former UN-backed government of national accord in and around Tripoli and lasted for more than a year before the eastern-based army retreating from the area. The conflict has killed and injured many civilians, caused great destruction of property, and left much unexploded ordnance. MILAN (AP) — Italy’s new far-right-led government has blocked humanitarian rescue ships from accessing its ports, resulting in a standoff with charities that patrol the deadly central Mediterranean, rescuing people in trouble at sea. A third charity ship, carrying 89 people rescued at sea, unloaded all of the people it rescued in Calabria on Tuesday. Italy says it is not responsible for taking on migrants rescued by charity rescue ships. A German captain, Carola Rackete, famously defied Salvini and entered an Italian port despite orders not to, citing an emergency situation on board. Most arrived on their own, or were rescued by the Italian Coast Guard or other national rescue ships.

Today, Geenee AR (augmented reality), a webAR content creation engine, integrated its web3-based body tracking software development kit (SDK) with Stable Diffusion, a generative AI platform. The alliance enables Geenee AR to leverage auto-generated AR textures to scale its interoperable real-time 3D (RT3D) immersive content offering. The Stable Diffusion integration enables Geenee AR creators to distribute wearable virtual apparel that users can customize on the fly. By integrating an AI platform, Geenee AR further lowers its barrier to AR content creation by providing tools which allow inexperienced developers to complete RT3D assets without extensive design knowledge. Geenee AR also partnered with Ready Player Me in April to secure scalable, interoperable, and accessible Web3 content for individuals and brands.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A Libyan military commander who once lived in Virginia sat for a deposition Sunday in a U.S. lawsuit in which he is accused of orchestrating indiscriminate attacks on civilians and torturing and killing political opponents, according to an advocacy group that supports the lawsuit. Hifter, commander of the self-styled Libyan National Army, is a defendant in three separate federal lawsuits in Virginia accusing him of killings and torture in that country’s civil war. Once a lieutenant to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, Hifter defected to the U.S. during the 1980s and spent many years living in northern Virginia. Hifter's U.S. lawyer had asked the judge to reconsider the default judgment, saying Hifter's duties as a military commander made it difficult for him to schedule a deposition. “The false charges in this lawsuit have been used by my political opponents to undermine my candidacy and disrupt the peace process,” Khalifa said in the affidavit.
