The first crash happened just before 6.30am in the southbound lanes of State Highway 20, after the Hillsborough Rd on-ramp. UPDATE 7:55AMThis multiple-vehicle crash has now been fully cleared from #SH20 with all southbound lanes after Hillsborough Rd OPEN again. Police said the crash was reported to them around 6.30am, telling the Herald around 10 cars were involved. Around 7.15am the second crash had been cleared of lanes but delays had not yet eased for northbound commuters.

White Stuff is launching stores across the US this summer, as it ramps up its international expansion plans through its growing wholesale business. Starting this month, customers in seven states will be able to shop from a specially curated collection of women’s clothing from the retailer. White Stuff said its wholesale business had allowed it to extend its reach to a wider customer base, partnering with local independent retailers that pre-order stock direct from the company to sell via their own stores and channels. Its wholesale business currently represents around 8% of its overall sales, with 410 existing partnerships across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Greece, Canada and New Zealand. New research released by Datacom shows New Zealand businesses may not have the quality of data to capitalise on AI and all it offers. From the results, it extrapolates that:Just 9 per cent of New Zealand businesses consider 100 per cent data to be “clean” - that is complete, and free of inaccuracies, duplication, inconsistencies or outdated material. Nearly half (47 per cent) of New Zealand businesses believe that “close to 75 per cent” of their data is clean. “The quality of AI outputs is wholly dependent on the quality of data that is available – garbage in, garbage out,” Gray says. It found:91 per cent of New Zealand businesses believe their organisation has adequate data and security protocols to protect their information.

Cost pressures in the building industry are continuing to ease, according to the latest figures from QV's CostBuilder database. CostBuilder follows pricing trends for more than 60,000 separate building industry costs. The figures suggest price increases are likely slowing even further with costs increasing by just 0.3% over the three months to the end of May. "The rate of building cost inflation is certainly on the wane," QV CostBuilder spokesman and quantity surveyor Martin Bisset said. "This will be welcome news to all those who are currently contemplating or pricing up new building projects."

A leading family violence crisis agency says the current cost of living crisis is exacerbating domestic abuse and harm in New Zealand, with a marked increase in people reporting more severe assaults - often involving weapons and strangulation. Paul Collins and Sky on the longhead course at the New Zealand sheepdog trial championships in Taranaki late last month. It was a southern trifecta as Brian Dickison and Jake, from the Greenvale club, were third in the New Zealand championship. Mr Collins and Sky were named non-travelling reserves. Back home on the farm last week and busy with shearing, Mr Collins joked it was a little hard to get motivated. Mr Collins had tried to get some pups out of Sky but had not yet been successful.
