ACT have values that would embarrass your average Drug Cartel and shame flesh hungry piranha while Luxon looks like a frightened virgin at an orgy. The feast of dead rats they are all about to embark upon has so many dishes, it’s difficult to know where to begin. ACT have values that would embarrass your average Drug Cartel and shame flesh hungry piranha while Luxon looks like a frightened virgin at an orgy. This Government is a Buffet of Right Wing Dead Rats which won’t solve any of the problems society is wrestling with. If this Buffet of Dead Rats is ‘winning’, losing don’t feel so bad.

Niu FM's new weekends host shares what it was like to grow up in a community that didn't understand Pacific culture. Ah-Young, who is one of the new co-hosts on Nui Weekends, went to primary school at Adventure School in the affluent suburb of Whitby in Porirua. She recalls feeling isolated because children didn’t want to play with her, explaining she seemed too different to fit in. I got the confidence that I needed and the reassurance needed, when I moved to South Auckland Seventh Day Adventist school. “It wasn’t all perfect, when I first started I was referred to as plastic, because ‘you don’t understand’ or ‘you speak a little different’.

Reviewing refereeing decisions has come a long – and increasingly unloved – way from the VAR (video assistant referee) project first trialled by FIFA in 2016. Two days earlier, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta lashed out at “an absolute disgrace” to allow Newcastle a decisive goal after a triple-layered VAR review. His team benefited this season from a Liverpool goal being wrongly ruled out for offside due to miscommunication between the referee and video officials at a central base away from the stadium. “Significant human error,” the league officials' group acknowledged after Tottenham's 2-1 win that is still title-chasing Liverpool's only loss in the league. There are a number of staff Stuff would have loved to keep, and had planned around. Hiring so many important staff from the only other major media organisation headquartered in Wellington could be seen as contradicting that intention. A spokesperson for RNZ pointed out that of 51 roles advertised this year, only seven have gone to Stuff journalists. The Stuff staff are uniformly outstanding, amongst the country’s best – but all are Pākehā too. Improving is not optional though, particularly for the only major media brand which is growing in a very subdued local market.

As expected, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has hiked its cash rate from 4.10% to 4.35%, the +25 bps rise markets were expecting. Even this new higher 4.35% rate will be at a level that is far lower than most similar central banks have adopted. Australia's monthly inflation indicator came in at 5.6% in September, having risen from 4.9% in July. The RBA's cash rate, Australia's benchmark interest rate, is the highest it has been since 2012. The December review will be the final RBA monthly review.
