Critics have said NZ banks refusal to plug these gaps meant NZ was seen as a soft touch by scammers, who used sophisticated schemes including mock websites and detailed investment pitches to trick people into paying out sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars. Recently a Parliamentary committee recommended NZ banks adopt confirmation of payee, ratcheting up the pressure on the industry. One devastating scam has seen New Zealanders make payments to NZ mule bank accounts which were meant to be Citibank accounts, for faked term deposit investments. He said NZ banks had effectively gone on record to say they needed to build confirmation of payee to protect consumers, "and they haven't up to this point". Banks will work with Payments NZ, which governs the payments system, to help make this a reality.”Payments NZ is owned by the banks.

ACT’s bottom line with National is a racist referendum that will redefine the Treaty of Waitangi and force it upon Māoridom with nothing more than a 1% basic majority. The backlash ACTs racist referendum will generate can’t be calculated. If ACT ram this racist referendum through it will provoke a race war. NZ election 2023: Raucous Northland debate crowd rails at covid, te reo Māori mentionsNorthland MP Willow-Jean Prime walked into the lion’s den when she took part in an election debate in Kerikeri last night. That scouring never occurred in Northland NZ. I think there are 4 basic groups in Northland: Māori, Pakeha, European New Zealanders and Kupapa (Māori who turned on their own to side with Cracker). Needless to say, a debate in Northland feels a tad cross burny. The week before we had a po-faced Riccardo who was like a virgin at an orgy at our Party Debate.

I THINK I’VE WORKED IT OUT – why writing about today’s version of “progressive” politics leaves me feeling so depressed. They don’t like where Labour and the Greens are going, and they’ll be damned if they’ll go there with them. Far from serving as the emancipating “vanguard” of the Proletariat, as Karl Marx hoped, the intelligentsia of the Twenty-First Century are claiming for themselves the role of Grand Inquisitor. And then, shamefully, having their lies accepted by the supposedly “independent” intellectuals appointed to expose and condemn media falsehoods. That which Twenty-First Century progressives most feared, Twenty-First Century progressivism has become.

The referees chosen to be in charge of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan were however given watches, although that was a one-off given that the partnership between Tudor and World Rugby had just started.
