"Specialty has been back in work for just under a month and all going well with Redmond, Specialty will head the same way over to Melbourne," Tapper said.

Asked if Wood lied to him, Hipkins didn’t answer directly, saying Wood hadn’t appropriately disclosed his shares. On Wood’s explanation of why he didn’t disclose the other shares, Hipkins said Wood told him he'd had the shares for a while. Wood’s future in politics was a question for him,” the Prime Minister said, noting MPs who made mistakes have come back from that. Asked if Wood could become a Cabinet minister again, Hipkins said that would be considered if the opportunity came up.

The residential rental market appears to be holding steady, with the number of properties rented in April following its usual seasonal course while rents held on to the gains made at the start of the year. The latest rental data from Tenancy Services shows it received 11,157 tenancy bonds in April, down slightly from the 11,802 it received in April last year. Bonds are usually lodged at the start of a tenancy and their numbers tend to peak over summer and then decline over the winter months. April's figures suggest the rental market is continuing to follow that trend this year and the bond graph below shows the monthly trend since the beginning of 2021. Rents also appear to be stabilising after a period of growth, with the national average rent climbing back to its record $575 a week in April.

A section of the main road from Fernhill to Queenstown has subsided after a "significant" burst water main caused havoc yesterday afternoon. On Fernhill Rd, the water appeared to be flowing underneath the asphalt, causing the foundations of the road to subside outside the Heritage. If they hadn’t stopped it when they did, my assumption is it would have been a lot worse in terms of property damage." Part of Queenstown’s Fernhill Rd subsided yesterday afternoon after a rising water main broke. Orbus was not able to travel up or down Fernhill Rd; instead, buses were travelling along the Glenorchy Rd, to Sunshine Bay and Fernhill.
