Rishi Sunak could reluctantly accept an extension to lockdown – but for no longer than 'a week or two'. As some call for 'Freedom Day' to be delayed by a month, Tory pressure grew to stick to June 21. Health Secretary Matt Hancock said restrictions currently in place in Bolton would be expanded across the rest of Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Although people in Greater Manchester and Lancashire have been told to minimise travel, they are still allowed to go on holiday. He also admitted the Government faces a 'challenging decision' in working out whether 'Freedom Day' – the final step in lifting lockdown – can go ahead as planned on June 21.

Therefore, it is natural that the practices adopted by different communities would be in keeping with their respective cultural traits. COMMENT:The permanent political solution introduced by Sri Lanka at the behest of India following the Indo-Lanka Accord in 1987 was the 13th Amendment. Now that the DMK who supported the aspirations of the Tamils in Sri Lanka is back with a majority in the State Assembly of Tamil Nadu, not only Sri Lanka but also Delhi is deeply concerned that the initiative taken by Res. 413 for a political solution to meet Tamil expectations in Sri Lanka would impact seriously on the security and stability in respect of India’s territorial integrity and that of Sri Lanka as well. RESOLUTION (6) – “US to explore investigations and prosecutions pursuant to the recommendations of the UNHigh Commissioner for Human Rights”.

Ask family members if they know a good contractor in the area. Get proof of insuranceYou can’t afford to let an uninsured contractor work on your home. Ask for referencesIf a contractor can’t give you at least three people who can vouch for the quality of their work, you’re in trouble. Once you’ve found a contractor that checks out and you feel good about, it’s time to get the work started. If a contractor insists that you pay a large deposit or even the total bill before the work starts, then she or he is not a good contractor.

Though it is true that some people on social media are not responsible at all, the CID’s special engagement with social media would do more harm than how it is right now. A video widely circulated via the electronic media recently showed the Health Ministry’s Communications Director and the Public Health Services Deputy Director General Dr. Hemantha Herath, saying that a majority of journalists who got killed were ‘third class journalists’. However, following the statement in question, Dr. Herath told The Morning on 7 June that he had already expressed his apologies in this connection, and conveyed regret. It also begs the question as to whether those journalists were in fact and indeed ‘third class journalists’. The discourse the aforementioned statement led to is neither about Dr. Herath, nor about how we as a country gauge the professional work of journalists. They have to understand that the freedom of speech and the right to not be unfairly punished for their actions in whatever capacity is not just a right of journalists.

Similar marches took place in cities across the globe shortly thereafter, giving rise to the events of Pride Month as we know them now. Still, Pride wasn’t officially recognized as such for over 30 years; former President Bill Clinton eventually declared June “Gay and Lesbian Month” in 1999. Former President Barack Obama expanded this moniker to become more inclusive in 2009 with “LGBT Pride Month.”By 2016, Obama designated the Stonewall Inn a national monument, too. Today, what was once a one-day parade has expanded into a month-long series of Pride events around the world.
