The agreement was reached during the ministerial meeting of the Arab Gas Pipeline countries (Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon) in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. A day after reaching the agreement, Lebanon announced the formation of a new government and assigned Walid Fayyad as the new Minister of Energy and Water.
