Enterprises across Asia Pacific are moving from AI experimentation to execution, with 96% of organizations planning to increase AI investments over the next 12 months, according to the 4th edition of the Lenovo CIO Playbook 2026, developed with insights from IDC. On average, organizations expect AI spending to grow by 15%, across generative AI and agentic AI, public cloud AI services, on-premises AI infrastructure, and AI security tools. India shows particularly strong momentum, with 99% of organizations planning to increase AI investments over the next 12 months and the highest average year-on-year budget growth in the region at 19%. Investment priorities include AI infrastructure, internal AI training for both IT and non-IT staff, generative AI development and applications, followed by AI devices and AI security, trust, and transparency tools. Currently, 21% of Asia Pacific organizations report significant usage, while 59% are exploring or planning limited deployments, especially in telecommunications, healthcare, and government.Readiness, however, remains uneven.

CHENNAI: A masked burglar spent nearly four hours inside a Bank of India branch in West Mambalam during the early hours of Friday but fled without stealing any cash or valuables after failing to break open the safe. Police said Saraswathi, a cleaner at the bank located in Postal Colony, noticed that the shutter lock had been broken when she arrived for work on Friday morning. She alerted the bank’s administrative manager, Tamilmathi, who inspected the branch and confirmed that no cash or valuables had been stolen. Police examined CCTV footage, which showed a masked man moving around the bank with a torchlight and entering the cashier’s room, apparently searching for money. The intruder attempted to break open a locker containing cash and jewellery but failed, police said.

Pakistani security forces have killed 15 terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations in the restive Balochistan province, the army said on Saturday. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted on Thursday after the reported presence of militants. The Pakistan government in 2024 notified the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as "Fitna al-Khawarij", a reference to a group in earlier Islamic history which was involved in violence. In another intelligence-based operation conducted in Basima district, the forces tracked the presence of terrorists and effectively engaged them using mixed calibre weapons. Balochistan has been facing a low-level insurgency and militants frequently target the security forces and government infrastructure.

राज्य ब्यूरो, पटना। मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार के पुत्र निशांत रविवार को दिन में एक बजे जदयू प्रदेश कार्यालय में पार्टी की सदस्यता ग्रहण करेंगे। इस मौके पर जदयू के कार्यकारी राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष संजय झा और केंद्रीय मंत्री राजीव रंजन सिंह उर्फ ललन सिंह सहित जदयू के सभी वरिष्ठ नेता मौजूद रहेंगे।मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार की मौजूदगी को लेकर अभी संशय है। राजनीतिक गलियारे में ऐसी चर्चा है कि निशांत को नयी सरकार में उप मुख्यमंत्री बनाया जा सकता है। इसके लिए वह आज जदयू की सदस्यता लेंगे। इसके बाद उन्हें विधान परिषद का सदस्य बनाया जाएगा।लंबे समय से थी निशांत की मांग निशांत के जदयू में शामिल किए जाने का मांग लंबी अवधि से मांग चलती रही है। इस आशय के कई होर्डिंग्स भी कई बार शहर में दिखे हैं। शुक्रवार को मुख्यमंत्री आवास में विधायकों के साथ हुई नीतीश कुमार कुमार की बैठक में इस आशय के प्रस्ताव को सर्वसम्मति से स्वीकृति मिली थी कि निशांत राजनीति में आएंगे।उनसे इस संबंध में पार्टी के बड़े नेताओं की बात हो चुकी है। इस निर्णय के बाद जदयू के कार्यकारी राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष संजय झा के आवास पर जदयू के विधायकों की एक बैठक हुई, जिसमें निशांत भी मौजूद थे। बैठक में निशांत के जदयू में शामिल होने के स्वरूप पर विमर्श हुआ। मंत्री श्रवण कुमार व जदयू नेता संजय कुमार सिंह उर्फ गांधी जी भी बैठक में शामिल हुए। पूरे बिहार में यात्रा करेंगे निशांत जदयू की योजना यह है कि निशांत को जिलों की यात्रा करायी जाएगी। संभवत: पश्चिमी चंपारण जिले से उनकी यात्रा आरंभ होगी। नीतीश कुमार के राज्यसभा जाने के निर्णय के बाद पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं के बीच जो असमंजस की स्थिति है, उसे निशांत कुमार के दौरे के माध्यम से दूर कराया जाए।
