Two Indian Air Force pilots were killed after a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed in Assam’s Karbi Anglong during a routine training mission. The Russian-origin aircraft had taken off from Jorhat airbase before losing radar contact around 7:42 pm. Following the crash, locals reported hearing a loud explosion and joined early search efforts using torches and lights. Police and Air Force personnel reached the site soon after and launched a search and rescue operation. The Indian Air Force later confirmed the crash and mourned the loss of the two pilots.

Most requests have come from those stuck in the United Arab Emirates, where air space remains largely closed and commercial flight operations continue to be suspended amid unrelenting attack from the Iranian side. Sources said the stranded Indians include tourists and transit visitors, who were in the UAE for short durations. Some of them are also students whose educational institutions have shut in the wake of Iranian attacks, or have switched to online classes.

The US Treasury said it will grant Indian refiners a short-term waiver to purchase Russian cargoes already at sea. “To enable oil to keep flowing into the global market, the treasury department is issuing a temporary 30-day waiver to allow Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said. India has already snapped up the cargoes of two ships carrying Russian crude that were sailing in nearby waters. Data from the trade intelligence firm Kpler suggests that roughly 130 million barrels of Russian crude are currently on tankers around the world. Indian state refiners are reported to have bought about 20 million barrels of Russian oil from traders so far.

Nagpur News ‘तीन इंजन’ वाली सरकार होने के बाद भी मनपा की तिजाेरी खाली है। राज्य सरकार के अनुदान को हटा देने पर मनपा के लिए रोजाना के खर्च को निकालने में भी आर्थिक संकट की स्थिति बनने की नौबत है। वर्तमान वित्त वर्ष के बजट का 5565 करोड़ रुपए के लक्ष्य अब तक 50 फीसदी तक ही 2680.27 करोड़ रुपये ही विविध कर के रूप में जमा हुए हैं। वहीं दूसरी ओर राज्य सरकार से मंजूर करीब 513 करोड़ रुपए का अनुदान अब भी प्रलंबित बना हुआ है। इस अनुदान में बुनियादी सुविधा में रास्ते निर्माण समेत अन्य कामों के लिए 410 करोड़ रुपए और विशेष नागरिक सुविधा फंड में 102 करोड रुपए का समावेश है। हालांकि विशेष नागरिक सुविधा के 102 करोड़ रुपए जिला नियोजन अधिकारी कार्यालय में पहुंचने की जानकारी दी जा रही है, लेकिन वास्तविकता में अब भी मनपा के खजाने तक नहीं पहुंचे है।बाढ़ नुकसान की दुरूस्ती का नहीं मिला फंड : 23 सितंबर 2023 को शहर में अंबाझरी के ओवरफ्लो होने से खासा नुकसान हुआ था। मनपा प्रशासन से तैयार 205 करोड़ रुपए के प्रस्ताव को राज्य सरकार से मंजूरी देकर कामों को आरंभ करने का निर्देश दिया गया था। इन कामों में नाग नदी समेत अन्य नालों की सुरक्षा दीवार, सड़कों की दुरूस्ती समेत अन्य कामों के लिए 158 करोड़ रुपए के कार्यादेश दिए गए थे। दो साल में सभी काम पूरा होने को आ गए है, लेकिन राज्य सरकार से अब तक दो किस्त में 14.5 करोड़ रुपए और 72 करोड़ रुपए समेत 86.5 करोड़ रुपए का भुगतान हुआ है, जबकि 72 करोड़ रुपए अब तक नहीं मिले है।निधि का जल्द आवंटन होगा : सरकार से निधि काे पाने के लिए लगातार पत्र-व्यवहार किया जा रहा है। जल्द ही निधि का आवंटन हो जाएगा। -सदाशिव शेलके, मुख्य लेखा एवं वित्त अधिकारी, मनपा
