A judge of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has approached the Karnataka High Court in India seeking the removal of links to old online news reports about him from Google, according to a report by The Hindu. The report said Justice A.H.M.D. Nawaz had filed a petition requesting the court to direct Google India to remove links to alleged defamatory news articles published in 2015 and 2020 by Sri Lankan news websites Colombo Telegraph and LankaNews. Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum of the Karnataka High Court issued notices to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Google and adjourned further hearing of the case until March 16. The petition reportedly states that although cases related to the alleged controversies were later quashed by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, the news reports remain accessible online through Google search results, which the judge claims continues to harm his professional reputation.

राज्य ब्यूरो, पटना। मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने उनके राज्यसभा जाने के निर्णय से मर्माहत पार्टी के विधायकों व सांसदों को भरोसा दिया कि दिल्ली में रहने के बाद भी राज्य में संगठन और सरकार पर उनकी नजर रहेगी। उन्होंने शुक्रवार की शाम मुख्यमंत्री आवास (एक अणे मार्ग) में आयोजित एक बैठक को संबोधित किया।इस दौरान उन्होंने जदयू विधायकों को समझाया कि उन्हें परेशान होने की जरूरत नहीं है। संगठन और सरकार दोनों पर उनकी नजर रहेगी। सभी लोगों के साथ उनका संवाद कायम रहेगा। इस बैठक में सभी विधायकों ने सामूहिक रूप से मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार के पुत्र निशांत को सक्रिय राजनीति मेें लाए जाने की मांग की।इस पर मुख्यमंत्री ने स्वयं तो कुछ नहीं कहा पर जदयू के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष संजय झा ने कहा कि निशांत सक्रिय राजनीति में आएंगे। इस पर उनसे बात हो चुकी है। जदयू की सदस्यता ग्रहण करने के बाद वह जिलाें का दौरा कर लोगों के साथ जनसंवाद भी करेंगे।मुख्यमंत्री ने भावुक हुए जदयू विधायकों को समझाया कि वह हमेशा उपलब्ध रहेंगे। दिल्ली में भी बैठेंगे और जरूरत पड़ी तो पटना में भी रहेंगे। खुद के राज्यसभा जाने की बात को भी अपने विधायकों को मुख्यमंत्री ने समझाया। उन्होंने कहा कि काफी पहले से उनकी इच्छा राज्यसभा जाने की थी। वह अपनी मर्जी से जा रहे। हमारा नेतृत्व जदयू को मिलता रहेगा। जहां भी जरूरत पड़ेगी वह मौजूद रहेंगे। अपने इस निर्णय के बारे में वह पार्टी के लोगों को बताना जरूरी समझते हैं।

प्रयागराज (ब्यूराे)। आगामी त्रिस्तरीय पंचायत चुनाव को लेकर अब तैयारियां तेजी पकड़ने लगी हैं। पंचायत चुनाव में इस बार मतदेय स्थलों पर मतदाताओं की संख्या अधिक रहेगी। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग ने वर्ष 2021 के चुनाव में एक बूथ पर 800 मतदाता वाला आदेश पलट दिया है। अब यह संख्या बढ़ाकर 900 कर दी गई है।रैंप की सुविधा है आवश्यकत्रिस्तरीय पंचायत निर्वाचन के लिए मतदाता सूची का काम भले ही अटका हो लेकिन अन्य तैयारियों में कोई कोर कसर नहीं छोड़ी जा रही है। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग के आदेश पर मतदेय स्थलों का संभाजन कार्य चल रहा है, जिसे किसी भी हाल में 16 मार्च तक पूरा करने के आदेश हैं। दावे और आपत्तियों के निस्तारण के बाद पूरक सूचियों की कंप्यूटरीकरण की तैयारी तथा उन्हें मूल सूची में यथा स्थान पर समाहित करने व मतदान केंद्रों-स्थलों के निर्धारण की कार्यवाही के बाद 17 मार्च से 13 अप्रैल तक मतदान केद्रों-स्थलों का क्रमांकन, वार्डों की मैपिंग, मतदाता क्रमांकन, सूची डाउनलोडिंग के कार्य होंगे। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग की ओर से जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए गए है कि मतदेय स्थल का चयन करते वक्त ध्यान रखना होगा कि गांव के किसी दबंग या प्रभावशाली व्यक्ति के घर के पास मतदेय स्थल न बनाया जाए। सरकारी व अर्ध सरकारी संस्थाओं में ही मतदेय स्थल बनेगा। प्रथम व द्वितीय तल पर मतदेय स्थल नहीं बनेगा। इसके अलावा अन्य जरूरी सुविधाओं से सुसज्जित मतदेय स्थल बनाने के निर्देश हैं। सभी बूथों पर रैंप की सुविधा आवश्यक है। बीएलओ को इसमें सहयोग करना है। वर्ष 2021 के चुनाव में एक बूथ पर अधिकतम 800 मतदाताओं को रखा गया था, इस बार यह संख्या बढ़ाकर 900 कर दी गई है। प्रत्येक ग्राम पंचायत में मतदान स्थल जरूर बनेगा, भले ही मतदाताओं की संख्या वहां पर 900 से कम हो। ऐसे में आसपास के उन गांवों के वोटर शिफ्ट किए जाएंगे, जहां 900 से ज्यादा मतदाता होंगे। सहायक जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी सत्यप्रकाश बर्नवाल ने बताया कि 900 मतदाताओं की संख्या पर बूथ बनाने की तैयारी शुरू कर दी गी है।

CHENNAI: Metro Water has announced temporary suspension of water supply to several areas in Valasaravakkam, Kodambakkam, Teynampet, Alandur and Adyar zones on Saturday and Sunday. As per an official release, water supply will be stopped from 11 pm on Saturday to 11 pm on Sunday to carry out works to seal leakage in the pipeline on Arcot Road in Porur near the CMRL pillar 247. In total, 37 wards in five zones will be affected. The affected areas are Mylapore, Nandanam, KK Nagar, Jafferkhanpet, MGR Nagar, Nesapakkam, Saidapet, Ashok Nagar, West Mambalam, Valasaravakkam, Alapakkam, Chinna Porur, Ramapuram, Nandambakkam, Alandur, Mugalivakkam, Manapakkam, Kotturpuram, Indira Nagar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, Taramani and Velachery.
