Two men aged in their 50s have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police received a report at around 11pm on Thursday night that a man had been injured during an altercation at a property in the Ranfurley Road area of Portadown. Officers and ambulance service personnel attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Launching a murder investigation, detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s major investigation team appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

A North Cork village could die for the lack of just €600,000 from Uisce Éireann, with the critical infrastructure deficit hanging over the village of Kiskeam like ‘The Sword of Damocles.’Standing orders were suspended at Cork County Council to discuss the situation in Kiskeam,with claims the recent vibrancy of the village is under severe threat over “small beer money” that would extend its sewerage system.
