The latest European Commission report on Turkey cites multiple reasons that led to deterioration of bilateral relations including its involvement in Libya. It points out that Turkey’s military support to Libya, including the deployment of foreign fighters on the ground, and its persistent criticism and lack of cooperation with Operation IRINI are detrimental to the EU’s effective contribution to the implementation of the UN arms embargo and have led to conflicting approaches to Libya. The Commission’s report also refers to the illegal Turkey-Libya memorandum. “Turkey has continued to confirm the validity of the 2019 Turkey-Libya Maritime Delimitation Agreement, which the EU considers to be a violation of the sovereign rights of third States, which does not comply with the Law of the Sea and has no legal consequences for third States,” the report stated. As regards Turkey’s foreign policy in general, the Commission underlines that its “unilateral foreign policy” has continued to contradict EU priorities in the framework of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), in particular due to its military action in Syria and Iraq and its lack of alignment with EU restrictive measures against Russia.

Spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Tango Bilgic, expressed his country’s rejection to inspect a Turkish ship by a German frigate belonging to IRINI operation off the Libyan coast. “Turkey rejects the illegal boarding by soldiers of a German frigate belonging to IRINI to a merchant ship flying the Turkish flag without the consent of the Turkish flag state,” Bilgic said. The Spokesman announced his country’s doubts about the legitimacy, purpose and impartiality of the European Union’s naval mission off the Libyan coast. The European Union’s Operation IRINI announced last Monday on Twitter that Ankara had refused the request to inspect the ship, and this was denied by the Turkish authorities. Operation IRINI called on the Security Council to request all UN members to cooperate with the inspections.

Considering the effect it has in the absence of professional Farsi language media and the strange inefficiency of the state media, Iran International has been able to create a serious challenge for the country's national security. The mainstream media are in the war with the eastern axis, including Russia, Iran and China. In the mainstream media war against Iran, Iran is not the target. At one such July 30 political event in Tempe, Arizona, Logan claimed undocumented immigrants are being handed Social Security numbers at the border. Immigrants are not receiving Social Security numbers at the borderThe Border Patrol "does not possess the capability or authority to issue Social Security numbers, and therefore does not issue Social Security numbers to non-citizens who crossed the border," Rhonda Lawson, a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, which includes the Border Patrol, told USA TODAY in an emailed statement. Nicole Tiggemann, a Social Security Administration spokesperson, also confirmed in an email that the agency does not issue Social Security numbers at border crossing stations. It was the strongest support from the General Assembly for Ukraine and against Russia of the four resolutions it has approved since Russian troops invaded Ukraine Feb. 24. The Western-sponsored resolution was a response to Russia’s announced annexation last month of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. By contrast, the General Assembly, where there are no vetoes, has now approved four resolutions criticizing Russia over Ukraine. Australian Ambassador Mitch Fifield called Russia’s attempted annexation “illegal and a dangerous escalation” and urged all countries to support the resolution to oppose acts of aggression. He argued that U.S. interference in the internal affairs of countries is continuing in the 21st century.

A new U.N. report finds migrants in Libya are subject to systematic human rights violations and abuse to compel them to accept so-called assisted returns to their countries of origin. Authors of the report say migrants in Libya are trapped in an untenable situation. The report says migrants frequently are compelled to accept assisted return to escape abusive detention conditions. The U.N. human rights office is calling on Libya and involved states to take immediate steps to address what it calls an indefensible, unconscionable situation. It says Libyan authorities must end all violations and abuses of migrants’ rights.

OPEC raised its crude oil production by 146,000 barrels per day (bpd) in September compared to August, but the ten OPEC members in the OPEC+ pact still had their total output well below the target level under the agreement. OPEC’s oil production rose to 29.767 million bpd last month, according to secondary sources in the cartel’s closely watched Monthly Oil Market Report (MOMR) published on Wednesday. Despite the fact that Nigeria boosted its oil production by 31,000 bpd in September, it is massively lagging behind its quota, and its oil production is at the lowest level in at least three decades. Despite the rise in production last month, OPEC and the wider OPEC+ group that includes Russia are still estimated to be around 3.6 million bpd below the collective target. Despite the headline number of a cut of 2 million bpd, the actual reduction from current OPEC+ oil production would be half that figure, at around 1 million bpd-1.1 million bpd.
