Hong Kong is drafting a proposal to simplify the process for non-local companies to change their place of domicile to Hong Kong, said Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui Ching-yu. The introduction of a company relocation regime was listed by Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po in his budget for this fiscal year. It is expected that such a regime could drive demand for professional services in Hong Kong and more investments to the city. In 2021, Hong Kong set up a relocation mechanism for open-ended fund-based companies and limited partnerships. Some overseas funds have already made use of it to relocate to the SAR.

The SAR government on Monday emphasized the fugitives "should not have any delusion" they could evade the legal liabilities by absconding from the city, and supported the national security police in putting eight overseas-based activists on the wanted list. "They (the fugitives) ultimately have to bear responsibility and face the sanctions of the law for their serious illegal acts endangering national security," a government spokesman said. "Endangering national security is a very serious offence and the government will fight against it in full force and pursue the liability of these persons to the end." The Security Bureau said on Monday that as the national security law has extraterritorial effect, the police have the responsibility to pursue the liability of those who have allegedly committed offences to endanger national security. SYDNEY — Thousands rallied in Australia on Sunday to back a campaign to recognize the country’s Indigenous people in the constitution ahead of a referendum later this year, after a recent dip in support for the change. ADVERTISEMENTPrime Minister Anthony Albanese’s centre-left Labor government backs the change, while the opposition Liberal-National conservatives urge a “No” vote. Another attendee, Isabelle Smith, said in her opinion the referendum was the most important issue in Australia. A large chunk of concrete canopy fell off a building at Mong Kok and hit a truck this afternoon, with the driver being sent to the hospital. The canopy, about 5 meters by 0.5 meters, fell off the exterior wall of the Po On Building at around 2.30 pm, struck a refrigerated truck underneath, and scattered debris all over the road. The 57-year-old driver, surnamed Chiu, had to be taken to the Kwong Wah Hospital after suffering from back pain. It is understood that the concerned building located at 30 Mong Kok Road had not been maintained for quite some time, and the effects of the continuous rain led to the collapse of the canopy roof. Significant threat: Around the world, doctors battle impersonatorsMANILA, Philippines — A Thai doctor endorsing a dubious diabetes treatment, a Filipino physician touting crotch-enhancing underwear, a US doctor sparking off anti-vaccine conspiracies – they are all victims of identity theft plaguing health professionals. Agence France Presse’s fact-checkers have exposed a slew of cases around the world in which fraudsters impersonated doctors, fabricating their comments or endorsements to push bogus treatments and products or to peddle propaganda. For ordinary consumers, the growing wave of impersonation scams poses financial risks and often jeopardizes access to safe and reliable health care. “Knowing that he (Rogan) has millions and millions of followers, that felt threatening,” Solenkova told the American Medical Association. “We (physicians) need to keep organizing against disinformation,” Solenkova said.
