Aluko, who retired from playing in 2019, was most recently sporting director at Aston VillaEni Aluko, the former England international, has been announced as the first-ever sporting director of new Los Angeles club Angel City. The Times revealed last week that Aluko, 34, would be joining the project which is viewed as one of the most exciting in the women’s global game. Angel City will begin competing in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in spring of 2022. The club have an ownership group of over 75 per cent women.
