The Music Cafe, a popular Dublin cafe known for its live music three nights a week, has announced its “immediate closure”. The café has been open since 2012 and the site of the building has a preservation order. It’s a structure which Dublin City Council considers to be of special interest from an architectural or historical standpoint. The owners announced the news on social media "with great regret”, saying that the café would close immediately. The premises windows were smashed during the Dublin riots in November 2023 and had its windows spray-painted by vandals in February 2024.
