Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War Credit: ActivisonIt’s official, just as we’ve known for a long time. Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War is going to be the next Call of Duty game, presumably out this fall, and the name is hilarious. We sometimes forget that the first Modern Warfare wasn’t just Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Black Ops is trickier: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (itself a pioneer in silly names with the groundbreaking ‘IIII’ faux-Roman numeral) was too recent to just call the thing Call of Duty: Black Ops. Or do we have to keep going with the subhead thing, and go with Call of Duty: Black Ops: Blacker Ops.
