At $884 billion, roughly one-fifth of the relief money went to help workers and families. Last week, House Democrats approved a $2.2 trillion relief proposal that is unlikely to move through the Republican-led Senate. The bills supplemented pay and sent one-time economic impact payments of up to $1,200 per person to 159 million American families. It expects to receive a $50 million tax refund. Industries relatively unaffected by the pandemic received large chunks of PPP money; meanwhile, some of the hardest-hit received less.
