The head of the Climate Change Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture, Mohamed Ali Fahim, has warned that an “extremely violent” storm this week will impact the the country for 72 hours. This comes after the country experienced a storm last weekend that disrupted government offices and schools, prompting a state of alert among government agencies. Fahim explained that the storm will begin Tuesday evening and continue until the end of Thursday, RT reported on Sunday. The most severe weather will be on Wednesday, he said, with very heavy rain and thunderstorms expected across most of the country. Fahim also warned of potential flash floods in the New Valley, Oases, and southern Upper Egypt, along with strong winds stirring up sand and dust, and a sharp drop in nighttime temperatures.
