Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee said Friday she will remain in the race for Senate even if fellow Republican Bob Corker changes his mind and seeks reelection, expressing confidence that she could beat the incumbent. Corker upended the race this week when he signaled he might reverse his decision to retire, amid GOP concerns about Blackburn’s viability in the general election and fear of losing a Republican Senate seat. “I am running, and I’m going to win,” Blackburn said in an interview Friday with radio host Hugh Hewitt. Trump criticized Corker, saying he could not be elected “dogcatcher.” The president had originally tried to persuade Corker to run again. Months after the falling-out, Corker has warmed to Trump on issues of national security and taxes, prompting questions about his political plans.
