Six days later I nearly died. I was sweating and feeling drowsy, so I went straight to bed and put it down to a tummy bug. The next day, I felt so unwell that I went to A&E where I was told that it was likely gastroenteritis. It was so heavily diseased that they had to remove the whole large bowel and give me a stoma bag. I have to work from home because there are some days where I am glued to the toilet.
