PETALING JAYA: There is no need for me to resign as I have the support from the majority of the MPs, and I will prove it in the next Parliament meeting, says Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. “I received a letter from the King on Aug 3 that eight Umno MPs had written to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker saying they were withdrawing their support for me. “Firstly, Article 43(2) stated that the King must first appoint a Prime Minister by picking an MP whom he believes has the command of the majority of Dewan Rakyat members. “However, I realise that my position as Prime Minister is often questioned. It was claimed that 11 Umno MPs have signed statutory declarations retracting their support for Muhyiddin, while the bulk of the 40 Barisan Nasional MPs have yet to make their stand public.
