Idols of Lord Krishna on display at the Krishna Darshan exhibition at Poompuhar showroom in Salem. | Photo Credit: E_Lakshmi Narayanan;E_Lakshmi Narayananmore-inIdols of Lord Krishna made of sandalwood, Papier Mache, clay, bronze, brass, teak and country wood are on display at the ‘Krishna Darshan’ exhibition under way at the Poompuhar showroom in the city. The idols of standing Krishna, Krishna with a cow, Radha Krishna, crawling Krishna, Santhana Krishna made of Papier Mache and clay and Kalinga narthana Krishna made of brass are on sale. The Papier Mache and clay idols have been procured from Tiruchi, Thanjavur and Cuddalore, and the panchaloha idols are from Swamimalai. A group of artisans are involved in the making of teak wood and country wood idols at Thammampatti in Salem district.
