President Trump on Wednesday said he doesn’t mind if special counsel Robert S. Mueller III releases his report to the public when it is finished, amid signs that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 campaign may be winding down. “I don’t mind,” Trump told reporters outside the White House before departing for a trip to Lima, Ohio. Trump maintained Wednesday that there was “no collusion” between his presidential campaign and Russia. The president and his legal team have repeatedly claimed that Mueller has multiple conflicts of interest but have declined to explain their allegations. The president also claimed Wednesday that Mueller’s “best friend is Comey, who’s a bad cop,” referring to James B. Comey, whom Trump fired as FBI director.
