PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s application to revise the international court’s ruling that gave Pulau Batu Puteh to Singapore is based on the discovery of three documents that may alter the decision. However, an expert on the case said there was no reason why the application should affect the now stronger and firmer bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries. “It is for the ICJ to decide whether the application has merit when it hears the matter. The ICJ in a statement yesterday said Malaysia in its application, referred to three documents discovered in the British national archives. Pulau Batu Puteh, which is 7.7 nautical miles from Malaysia and 25.5 nautical miles from Singapore, has a maximum length of 137m.
