‘The Stranger’ Review: Netflix’s New Mystery Is Too Tangled For Its Own Good

I was hoping that it would be more compelling than Safe, another Corben Netflix mystery, which I didn’t make it all the way through. A beautiful, mysterious stranger (Hannah John-Kamen) appears out of nowhere to tell family man Adam Price (Richard Armitage) a terrible secret about his wife. It feels a bit…arbitrary, and still does, by the time we reach the end of the series and all is revealed. The Stranger NetflixWhile there is indeed a murder early on in the series that needs to be solved, that’s not the central premise. Additionally, I think the Stranger works best as a pure mystery figure, but the more we learn about her, the less interesting she becomes.
