At first, I ignored the messages because I do not and have never had a Unifi account, but they kept coming. To my surprise, the staff showed me documents stating I had registered for the service and used it but never paid the bill. I told them someone must have stolen my IC and also pointed out that the email address registered was not mine. I was very reluctant but thought it would be useless arguing with counter staff who were merely following procedure. The reason I am writing this letter is that when I appeared in front of the commissioner for oaths – now almost two months ago – he actually lamented that “there are so many such cases”.
