Barely 24 hours following her appointment to the office of the Ombudsman, President Ellen Johnson yesterday rescinded her decision appointing Attorney Massa Jallabah, the Executive Mansion said in a release. Jallabah, according to the release, is a result of confirmed information that she has not met the age requirement set forth in Executive Order #83 recently issued by the President setting up the Office of the Ombudsman. The Executive Mansion said it regrets any inconvenience the unfolding situation may cause Atty. Meanwhile, a replacement for the vacancy that has been created will be named subsequently, the release said. According to the Code of Conduct law, appointees to the Office of the Ombudsman shall be Liberian citizens of high moral character; of age not less than 40 years and must have a graduate of a professional degree.
