Researchers at Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland have developed a groundbreaking AI-powered headset that can predict epileptic seizures before they occur. Professor Hadi Larijani, who led the research team at Glasgow Caledonian University, explained that the unique headset analyses brainwaves and heart rate to detect seizures, giving those with epilepsy “more confidence” in managing the condition. Currently, no readily available device can provide advanced warnings of seizures for people with epilepsy. Professor Larijani said the headset is “very unique”, and the team hopes to one day release it as a wearable device similar to a cap.
