We thank the Supreme Court and all the media for this. The Supreme Court has been sensitive towards this case. All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba called the Supreme Court intervention a victory for the rape survivor and those who stood by her. The high court had ordered the suspension till the pendency of his appeal challenging his conviction and sentence in the rape case. Despite the high court’s order, Sengar continues to remain in jail as he is also serving a 10-year sentence in the custodial death of the survivor’s father.
